PEER™Training

An introduction to Emotional Release Work for the general public, counselors and therapists. C.E.U's available.

The PEER Training Program (Primary, Emotional, Energy, Recovery) is a series of courses in emotional release work, designed to assist in bringing the body and the feelings more fully into the healing process. The aim is the Recovery of our Primary Emotional Energy, the wellspring of our creativity, our joy, and our usefulness to humanity.

PEER I

The PEER I Program, a two day training, a provides a comprehensive overview of PEER philosophy, and teaches practical, specific skills, involving not only words, but also tone of voice, non-verbal sounds, facial expressions, and physical gesture and movement. You'll learn how to use these techniques to:

Work through anger and reach forgiveness. Move through sorrow and arrive at gratitude. Release fear, guilt, and shame and achieve self-confidence.

First, you will observe demonstrations of how this is done. Then you will have an opportunity to practice what you have learned in supervised, hands-on experience, until you feel confident in doing this work.

You will learn not only how to use these techniques to support your own personal recovery, but also to work with clients if you are a therapist.

The focus is on:

  • Where your own and your clients' emotional tensions are, where they come from, how they are held in the body, and how to release them.
  • How to create the safety needed to facilitate specific techniques-what to do and what not to do.
  • What to do when nothing works: the hopeless /helpless pattern; the chronic disappointment pattern; the endless struggle pattern; chronic shock.
  • How to leave your client and yourself feeling release, better, "lighter" at the end of the session.

In teaching these skills, PEER reaches back to the inner child, healing early traumas and clearing up present dysfunction. A central goal is the Recovery of your Primary Emotional Energy. May be repeated for continuing education credits.

PEER II

THE PEER II Program, another two day training, expands the knowledge and skills learned in PEER I. The focus here is on learning a process for releasing the hurts, disappointments, anger and frustrations of past relationships, or to let go of a dysfunctional relationship altogether.

The process is thorough and elegant, dealing systematically with all the emotional patterns that block us and keep us stuck in abusive or less than satisfying relationships.

This is accomplished by discharging the fear, anger, and shock, allowing us to come out of denial and release pent-up emotions and reconnect with the energy that we had in childhood.

PEER III

PEER III is for PEER II graduates who want to do an ongoing training with Dan Jones and John, with the aim of an increasingly high degree of personal emotional recovery.

In addition to a supervised clinical program, and assisting at PEER Trainings, there is an individualized program for personal recovery which might involve, in addition to emotional release work, such related practices as, for example, breathwork, or bodywork or meditation, material arts or other useful tools.

People who complete level III are invited to attend PEER's annual Retreat in the beautiful mountains of North Carolina for a weekend of further training, community building and fun.

Also PEER III people are invited to teach Facing the Fire Seminars locally and nationally.
